Our Classes

POUND, an exhilarating and infectious full body workout that combines, cardio, conditioning and strength training using Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks.

Circuit training, a small group workout that involves rotating through a number of different drills all targeting a different part of the body

The original dumbbell workout, Hour of Power works your upper and lower body. Far more than just another workout!

Pump is a resistance workout which uses a barbell and dumbbells.

It is specifically designed to get

you lean, toned and fit with motivational music.

Piloxing is a non-stop cardio fusion of standing pilates, boxing and dance. This class will push you past your limits. The weighted gloves are optional but obviously they add to the intensity of the workout. It is recommended that Piloxing is done in bare feet or pilates/yoga socks - but trainers can be worn if participants prefer.

Energy Glow is a class that feels more like a night out than a fitness class! Fun, easy to follow routines using glow sticks to club anthems from the 90's to the latest chart hits. All taught in a darkened room with disco lights to give a nightclub atmosphere.

Metafit is the original 30 minute, non-choreographed, bodyweight only HIIT (high intensity interval training) workout.

'Old school' exercises to set the metabolism on fire. The workout that keeps working.

The ultimate workout! Aerobics to warm you up, interval training to make you sweat, upper body weights, squats and lunges for toning and finishing off with a lovely core session. All done to the cheesiest music from the 80's to the present day - you won't be able to resist singing along!

Kettlercise is the single most effective kettlebell fat burning workout, designed to shape and sculpt your body for rapid fat loss and a lean toned body. Fun and super effective.

Please note: you will need to bring your own kettlebell.

A cardio warm up, followed by toning exercises using weights, steps and resistance bands to tone every part of the body.

 Boxercise - a High Intensity Interval Training class carried out by a fully qualified Boxercise instructor. It's hard work, but has great results. 

A challenging but great fun class carried out on specially designed bikes to fantastic music in a darkened room.

Great for improving stamina and general fitness. Your legs will love it!

Abs Attack - a great core workout designed to target and attack your abs!

Body Blitz - a fantastic high intensity all over body workout. 

A gentle cardio dance class for active older adults or people returning to exercise after a break. Great fun, easy to follow routines at a lower intensity.

About The Energy Effect

I’ve always loved taking part in fitness classes. So after years of attending them and becoming a mum to my two daughters I decided to have a career change - and trained to become an instructor myself.


Over the years I’ve trained to teach everything from Kettlercise to Aqua Aerobics. Through starting out in both leisure centres/gyms and also running local community classes, I’ve gained a huge amount of knowledge about what people want from their sessions and what they enjoy. However, I was really restricted with what I could offer (carrying 16 Reebok steps, 30 mats and numerous weights about in my car was taking it’s toll) and finding suitable venues was also tricky.


Opening my own fitness studio was my ultimate dream. After a lot of research and saving, the dream became a reality. In February 2016 a friend found a tired industrial unit in Buckingham that had big potential. Months later on June 3rd, I opened the doors to The Energy Effect Fitness Studio Buckingham and I haven't looked back! 

 

Initially I was teaching every class, but when one of my closest friends Katrin moved back into the area and covered my holiday classes, she proved to be a big hit so there was no way I was letting her go! Kat is amazing, she’s hugely popular with the members and hugely valued by me. Having her on board means I can offer an additional 11 classes a week!
 

Since opening, memberships have rocketed and have exceeded my expectations. I’ve listened to client feedback and when new classes have been requested Kat and I have embarked on the necessary training to get them on the timetable. In June 2017 we both completed our Indoor Cycling training, I then converted the upstairs office into a spin studio which now holds 22 bikes with 7 Energy Cycle classes running a week.


Whether you’re looking for a low impact dance class or a fierce Kettlercise class the studio has something for everyone. The studio is unique in so many ways. - the atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming and people are achieving fantastic results. Come along and join the fun, I look forward to meeting you.
