Studio Owner and Fitness Instructor
In 2009 I completed my Exercise to Music Level 2 qualification including Anatomy and Physiology, Health and Safety, Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health and Planning Group Exercise. I then went on to train to teach, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Sentao and Zumba Kids (as you can tell Zumba was all the rage back then), Pump Fx, Step, Fight Fx, Clubbercise, Piloxing, Kettlercise, Aqua aerobics, Indoor Cycling and most recently Boxercise.
Class crazes come and go but for me you just can’t beat the traditional Body Conditioning class, it was the first thing I ever taught and now many years later it continues to be one of the studio’s most popular classes. I’m fairly sure that’s
largely down to the cheesy music I play and my singing!
Energy Cycle and Piloxing are big favourites of mine too but generally it’s the participants that make me enjoy my classes so much so I love them all.Outside of the studio I have a rather lovely husband that is also responsible for all the fantastic graphics at the studio, I have 2 beautiful teenage daughters Ella and Jessica and not forgetting my Cocker Spaniel Oscar who can often be found sleeping in his crate at the studio. My perfect day off would be spent shopping with the girls, lunch out and then pj’s on and a film on the sofa which I largely sleep though, I love sleep!
After years of attending Kirsty’s fitness classes I decided I wanted to train to become an instructor. In 2016 I completed my exercise to music level 2 qualification.
Shortly after I competed training in Piloxing and Boogie Bounce. In August the same year Kirsty was taking a well-deserved holiday and looking for cover and, having never taught a class, she entrusted me to look after her new studio. Having successfully managed to keep it running for two weeks, I saw what a unique studio this was, not only offering a wide variety of classes to suit all levels, but the personal touch and not to mention the lovely, friendly and welcoming
members. I felt at home there and she was stuck with me - luckily for me she agreed and offered me regular classes! I have since gone onto complete training courses in Metafit, in door cycling and boxercise.
As well as working at the studio I also work locally as a Healthcare Assistant.Outside of work I can often be found with a glass of wine, gin, prosecco, beer, cocktail (I’m not fussy!) in hand, relaxing with my gorgeous family – my two beautiful girls Caitlin and Isla; and my husband, Darren, who continues to support me with my work and who has made is possible for me to be where I am doing what I love.
